WE ARE RECRUITING TO „MARITIME TERRORISM AND PIRACY. PROCEDRES, DEFENCE, MINIMIZATION OF LOSSES IN CASE OF HOSTAGE SITUATION AT SEA” COURSE

Data, related to pirating attacks in 2011 prepared by International Maritime Bureau (IMB) are alarming. In the first half of a year amount of pirates’ attacks have raised in 35% growth comparing to previous year.

What is more, pirates are more and more aggressive. They started beating and torturing captive seamen. Many of them were used as human shields while western battleships appeared. More often is usage of armed vessel protection teams and accuracy of Citadel caused changes in pirates approach and tactics. Recently, they conduct simultaneous attacks using even over a dozen skiffs in the same time.

We kindly invite to a course which you can gain knowledge about intelligence reported situation in Somalia. Tactics used by pirates in Gulf of Aden area, and you will learn how to deal during this kind of attacks and how to survive the long-term hostage situation. During the second day, attendants will take part in practical simulation of pirate attack on the vessel.

Our lecturers are CPT. Marek Niski leaded VLCC “Sirius Star” during hijack, PhD. Angelika Szymańska - psychologist specialized in PTSD (posttraumatic stress disorder) caused by combat activities and hostage situations, LCDR Sebastian Kalitowski former Naval Special Forces Unit “Formoza” officer and Husen Muhammed Yusuf Maritime Safety and Security Somalia issue consultant.
